Music and Family

For my music and me blog I decided to Interview my older brother Marques. I decided to do him because growing up we were together a lot, and his music taste when he was my age when we were together really influenced my music taste and what and who  started listening too when I was younger. I first started off by asking him what did he listen too as a child and in his younger years. And him being born and raised in California really influenced his music taste as a child. He started off listening to the major West Coast rappers like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. He says "I a lot of the music I listened too when I was a kid was just Music our dad was playing and I just tuned in and listened and it stuck with me.  But when he moved to the east coast (South Carolina) he was heavily influenced by the family around him to listen to the more popular east coast rappers that they had to offer. He began listening to artists like, Nas. DMX, 50 Cent, and LL Cool J. these rappers were his main listens from when he moved to South Carolina as a kid all the way up to around high school. And that's when he says," when I got to high school that's when my own personal music taste started to show". When he was in high school that's around the time I was born so i got to listen to the music that really molded his taste in music today with him and think that's really cool seeing he still listens to a lot of these same Artists. When he was in high school coming close to college and while I was growing up he began listening to Artists like Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, J.cole, Drake, Frank Ocean, and Kanye West. And his all time favorite Lil Wayne. And these were also the rappers that influenced my younger music taste as well. Now and days he still listens to J.cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar. Mainly because when he was first listening to them the were just blowing up so listen to then is nostalgia to him. His favorite rapper now is Isaiah Rashad he is a newer artist from Tennessee. Fun fact he likes this Artist so much that he made it his son and my nephews middle name(Bryson Isaiah Rashad Leonard).  Here are some memorable songs he played that I was younger that he and I loved and can still listen too to this day.

EX: first my personal favorite is Last Night by Diddy and Keyshia Cole. Then we have Thinkin Bout You by Frank Ocean , Cocoa Butter Kisses by Chance the Rapper.
