The Land Of Ethiopia   I will be doing my last blog on the Music and Culture on Ethiopia, a country in Eastern Africa. I chose Ethiopia because one of my favorite influencers is from here and the way he talks about his culture has always interested me. So today I will be taking a chance to talk about and go further in depth on the culture and its Music. Ethiopia, a country with a long history and a diverse geography, has a dynamic and diverse cultural structure that reflects the diversity of its people. Ethiopians are united by their music, which is a pleasant journey through time that captures the strength and depth of the country's culture. Music and Family

For my music and me blog I decided to Interview my older brother Marques. I decided to do him because growing up we were together a lot, and his music taste when he was my age when we were together really influenced my music taste and what and who  started listening too when I was younger. I first started off by asking him what did he listen too as a child and in his younger years. And him being born and raised in California really influenced his music taste as a child. He started off listening to the major West Coast rappers like Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Dr. Dre. He says "I a lot of the music I listened too when I was a kid was just Music our dad was playing and I just tuned in and listened and it stuck with me.  But when he moved to the east coast (South Carolina) he was heavily influenced by the family around him to listen to the more popular east coast rappers that they had to offer. He began listening to artists like, Nas. DMX, 50 Cent, and LL Cool J. these rappers we...

Music and Gender

I dont know how on topic or off my idea of music and gender is, but im just going to shoot for the stars. The example i am going to be talking about comes from my favorite music artist in Rod wave. I chose hime because now and days a lot of male artists only talk/rap about a couple of things, harming people, committing crimes, how much money they have, and how many women they have or been with. but with Rod Wave as male artists he goes for a different approach and message in his songs. He mainly talks about the challenges he's faced in his life and how he's over come them after going through it for such along time, as well as rapping about love and how he feels about it. Alot of male artists definitely arent doing that anymore. But dont get me wrong there are some songs were he's doing the traditional male rapping topics , but 90% of the time its the more mellow and chill rod wave and thats the side of his music that attracts me.  This is a concept song of the Movie "...

Song 1: Forever my Lady by Jodeci                           Song 2: All my life by K-Ci and JoJo In my Culture, at weddings these are the 2 most common songs there is. Forever my lady by jodeci and all my life by K-Ci and JoJo. And I honestly can see why these songs are so common at weddings, these 2 songs are great old schooled R&B love songs with a very deep message directed to their intended lover. Both songs are songs that are on the slower side of songs so these songs would either be playing low while the bride and groom said there wedding vows or they could be used at the after party were the newly wedded would have a slow dance with each other. The song forever my lady   A wonderful declaration of love, the heartfelt song has the singer professing his love for the person he is in love with and vowing to always adore and care for her. Due to its powerful emotional resonance and the singer's genui...
